The light pink rim hints at a classic Burgundian-style Pinot Noir. The nose offers fresh-picked bing cherries and ripe strawberry notes with an undertone of turned soil and mushrooms. This wine is fresh and leads into racy acidity. It is well-balanced and complex.
Aromas of chocolate, blackberry, blueberry and black currant are richly layered with fresh strawberry and mint notes. The tannic and high acid structure of the wine completes the experience. A truly complex wine that offers a unique profile of red, black and blue fruit aromas.
In the words of Josh Raynolds from Vinous, it is "A wild, complex bouquet (that) evokes ripe dark berries, succulent herbs and potpourri, plus a hint of smoked meat in the background... blueberry and cassis flavors are firmed by a spine of juicy acidity. Deep yet lively as well, displaying excellent finishing clarity and supple tannins."
From Josh Raynolds at Vinous: "High-pitched raspberry, cherry and floral pastille aromas are complemented by suave Asian spice and smoky mineral flourishes. Fine-grained tannins sneak in slowly on a very long, seamless finish."
A bouquet of red fruit: freshly-harvested cherries, macerated strawberries, and a hint of red currants. Intensely bright cherry flavors with secondary notes of steeped winter spices. The combination of red fruit, high acid, and mild tannins make this a great example of a bright, well-balanced Pinot Noir.
A bright, purple rim leads to an almost black core. The nose is offered blue and black fruits with an array of secondary aromas. Steeped blueberries lead the way followed by crushed, black currants. Cracked black peppercorns and smoked meats create an ultra-complex wine. Hints of vanilla and shaved dark chocolate add to the wine, creating a perfectly balanced wine. The chalky tannins dissolve quickly allowing the palate to enjoy the many flavors found in this wine.
